October 2010
| Program: T-E Garden | |
We will meet at the corner of Village and Millbrook Roads to hear why this tiny flower garden provides so much pleasure to the citizens of Harding Township. Most of you have worked hard planting, weeding, and raking this special plot of land. Now you'll learn how and why our Club has been given this honored duty. We will also walk through the Susan D. Ortman Park (adjacent to the T-E Garden) and learn from our fellow members about its rare native plants and trees. Many special plants were rescued from areas slated for development. |
November 2010
| Program: Bows, Boughs, and Branches | |
Let our gifted fellow members (a.k.a. the Bow-Making Gurus), teach you how to make perfect bows just in time for the holiday season. With bows big and small, your gifts will be both gorgeous and festive. Special guests show us new ways to make seasonal decorations for our homes and exclusive gifts for our favorite kindred spirits. Please bring floral wire and clippers. We will provide the ribbons. |
No December general meeting due to our Holiday Party and our annual workshop, Holiday Decorations for the Village.
January 2011
| Program: Sun/Shade Analysis and Atlock Farm | |
NV Garden Club member, Nancy McClelland, will be sharing her landscape architect expertise by teaching Garden Club members about shade analysis. Nancy will show how to predict the direction and angle of the sun at different times of the year so that you can plan your garden accordingly. If you have a landscape plan, we encourage you to bring it to the meeting. Next, we will enjoy a presentation by the experts at Atlock Farm. Atlock creates beautiful, potted living sculptures. (Think Edward Scissorhands in miniature.) They custom design and install specialty gardens and container plantings for residences and businesses. Atlock specializes in topiary and show plants and maintains a series of beautiful gardens at its nursery to inspire visitors and clients. |

She has won the highest design honors for her concept gardens for the New Jersey Flower and Garden Show and the Mansion in May and Stately Homes-by-the-Sea designer show houses.
